On a less happy note, I posted this on my personal blog but thought I would share it here too:
Here is a little hint that I just learned the hard way. Never buy anything from ProFlowers. Hubs bought me a beautiful bouquet for our anniversary in Feb. Since then we have been charged $14.95 each month for a subscription to Easy Saver of which we had no idea we had joined. Apparently it is a big scam going on and hundreds of people have been ripped off.
We'll probably be able to get most of our money back (or so they say, we'll see) but even so it's still wrong. Personally I don't know how these people live with themselves. Stealing from innocent people who just wanted to do something nice for their loved one. It makes me so angry.

Save in the kitchen
Brandy at Savin' Some has a great list to save money in the kitchen. Click here to read her list then read my add on's and add a few yourself.
16. Invest in a water filter for your sink instead of buying bottled waters.
17. Instead of that extra scoop of ice cream, add a scoop of whipped cream to your bowl. Saves money and calories.
18. Look in your cupboards while planning your weekly menu so you can use things you already have, cutting down your shopping list.
19. Ask your family what they want. Otherwise you might cook something they won't eat and it will go to waste.
20. Take free food when it's offered. Like when a neighbor has grown too many oranges and asks if you want some.

You don't have to use it
One of my favorite sites for helpful money saving tips is Nickels-n-Dimes. I totally agree with their 5 pm tip today. Just because you have a coupon doesn't mean that you have to use it.
Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to save money that we don't realize the obvious. We may be buying things only because we have a coupon. Some of these extra things never ever get used. So no matter how much you save, you are still losing money if you buy them.
Or we may be buying things that we could have gotten for less. Watch for another brand that is on sale, or a store brand that is cheapr. Sometimes the total of something without a coupon is lower than the brand we buy even after subtracting the coupon.
Here are some questions to ask yourself:
1. Am I going to use this item?
2. Is it really cheaper to use the coupon then to buy a different brand?
